#2012
With the last day of 2011, I wanna take the time to wish everyone who has supported TPL and worked with us, a happy and healthy New Year. Anyone who’s bought a shirt, liked us on Facebook, Followed us on Twitter, shared us with a friend or straight up worked with us.. Thank you so much. Words can’t explain how much I appreciate anyone who has helped us get where we are. TPL has seen it’s share of negative shit in 2011 (a company attempting to bootleg our gear and cybersquat our domain and having to turn down a big artist who worked for the likes of FSAS, Dr. Dre and Nike, etc) that have made this year super stressful.. But the potential for growth and overall positivity surrounding this project has been amazing. Prepare yourself for a wall of text..
This clothing line has been in the works since early 2010, but dropped on June 21st, 2011.. TPL is basically only 6 months into it’s public existence and in that 6 months so much has been accomplished. Firstly, we got to work with and sponsor one of the most talented group of people I’m happy to have spoken with, Challenges. They’ve accomplished a lot this year, like winning the break-thru contest and winning a slot on Warped Tour, (btw, big shout to their drummer Ralph for wearing a TPL shirt during that contest!) and will do big things in the future. I’m super elated to be working with such nice dudes and wish them much success. Although they’ve been working quietly since they joined the fam, I also want to the thank The MOAMENT Crew for rocking TPL gear and joining the family. Their super positive music helped me pull through stressful moments and helped me focus on the future and where I needed to and wanted to be. They have big things planned for 2012; a new mixtape has been in the works and I’m super excited to peep it and work with them on the drop! Finally, I want to thank our newest family member, Shizzy Sixx. I’ve been wanting to reach out to the dude for a while, and I’m glad I finally did in November; he’s a super chill, down to earth & professional guy and I couldn’t be happier to associate with him. His mixtape is easily some of the dopest music I’ve peeped out in my life, and I’m elated to have participated in the designing and acquiring of his mixtape artwork. His music and participation in the TPL fam has given us the boost we need to enter 2012 with a bang.
Next, I need to send my wishes of well being with all of the artists who have made this possible.. I want to shout out Forger Graphics, despite not working with the dude in a while and having a little fall out with him, he will always be the homie.. This line wouldn’t have started or become what it’s growing to be without him. RISEone, a super chill and friendly artist who I can’t be more happy to have worked with. And lastly, GADE. GADE not only did a dope tee design that’s dropping in 2012, but designed both the Act Sixx mixtape cover for Shizzy and all of the images used on this website. I couldn’t be more elated to have worked with, and continue to work with, GADE.
The bottom line is, TPL is far from becoming a successful business (and if anyone has read this all the way through besides the people I shouted out, thank you! ); but all of the people I’ve listed above have helped bring it closer to becoming one. In only 6 months a lot of lessons have been learned, events experienced and friends made. If all of this happened in only 6 months, I can’t even begin to imagine what will happen within the next year, especially with all the momentum we’re beginning to build. I want to thank everyone again, and wish everyone a successful 2012. Follow your dreams and don’t ever fucking stop. You may never reach the destination you had in mind, but the experiences and people you encounter along the way, along with the lessons you learn, make the journey worth it.
One last shoutout for the TPL Family and everyone who has supported us, 2012 will be our year, let’s grind for it!
